Another easy day- we cleared poo for an hour, and then Heather told us to come and meet her at the hut she sells her produce from so we could see how to make cheese. She got a bit emotional about Mitch- the dog who David brought home from the pound and whose leg has started deteriorating so that he can no longer follow her around everywhere- whilst she was telling Alice about fire being a regenerator.

After a rather indulgent lunch of poached eggs on macaroni cheese on toast, we wangled a lift into Moteuka with Heather so we could talk to her friend Christie's mum who works at the I-site there to book our kayaking trip for tomorrow. We then went to a shop where they have the scoop and weigh things I love, and then whilst Hamish and Heather went to The Warehouse, we brought some vodka for the watermelon vodka we have been discussing, as they got a lot of watermelons from the market gardeners. We snuck off to the crystal shop to buy some candles and incense, as well as some biscuits and sweets from the supermarket as a present to give them when we leave.
