It was raining today, so what a shame, we didn't have to do the barberry. Instead we scrubbed the walls and ceilings, and did some dusting, along with Jana and Viktor, the Germans. Me and Alice thought we'd try and do a few hours of the barberry in the afternoon, as we want to get a day free to go to Abel Tasman, but unfortunately (although I think we were both secretly glad) it was still raining. I commented on Heather's totem stick that was in the corner which encouraged her to get me to do a drawing of my totem. I had to draw 3 animals, an element from wind, fire, earth and water, what I wanted out of doing the totem, and a symbol. It was fun to draw, but I'm still not sure about all the spiritual stuff.
After tea, me, Alice, Heather and David had a laugh at the Dovedale newspaper that Heather gets emailed. There was a lady who wrote an article about animals needing companions which made it sound like she could probably do with a companion too, and someone had written a story called 'God's Holiday' which was about God talking to an angel about how he had invented a world with balance, and how New Zealand was an amazing place with amazing people, and the angel asked where the balance was in it, and I think it was going to go on to saying Australia was the opposite, but the lady who puts it together had put something on top of it so the story was left untold.
