Since we were interested in seeing the cow getting milked, we helped herd Pearl (the milking cow) up to where the milking machine is. Now that there's the technology to machine pump it, I don't think we'll get a chance to do it by hand (especially as she's not producing much milk at the moment).
We sliced up some plums to put in the dehydrator, in the hope of making prunes (although last time Heather tried this it didn't work so well), and then helped with the food rounds again. The Billy goat (called Billy) is very naughty, and always climbs onto the trailer to eat the capsicums there, instead of the ones we've already cleared out of there and onto the ground. Polores is another naughty goat who had escaped yesterday with her two kids, so we helped round them up.
We got to sort out the bread David had brought back from New World from the plastic wrappers, and in doing so had a few nibbles of everything that took our fancy (quite a lot took our fancy). We also had a proper refreshment break with more cordial and a passion fruit and lemon bun thing.
Heather hadn't clocked that it was the last day of the month today, which meant she had to drive into Richmond to pay the rates, so me and Alice came with her as Alice wanted to buy some higher factor sun cream, and whilst there we stopped by K-Mart so I could buy some more socks (and because the pyjama bottoms were only a dollar, I got some of those too as I had a mysterious unfortunate stain on my other pair).
When we got back, Alice spent all of the rest of the afternoon attempting to fill out her tax forms, which made her extremely frustrated.
After a stir-fry for tea, I watched a home and garden improvement program on TV with Dave and Heather, and dipped ginger nuts into cocoa which was very nice.
