There weren't that many interesting things about today as all we did was drive. We weren't sure of our route, but Alice went to the I-site to gather information about South Island, and then we went to the supermarket, where a German man tapped on the window whilst I was phoning mum and dad to ask if I spoke German.
We drove to Kaikoura, and stopped en route for a crayfish (Kai- eat, koura- crayfish) although hadn't realised how expensive they were- mine was $35. It was nice but left a fishy smell on my hands all day. Once in Kaikoura, we decided to travel to the West Coast, and booked our glacier trip for Wednesday. WE had a quick look at where the seal colony lives, although only saw one or two from quite faraway, and then carried on our way. The scenery was very beautiful; I particularly liked the colour of the sea as we were driving down the East Coast.
We didn't fancy paying $20 to go in the hot springs on our way passed- t seems a bit of a rip off given it's a natural occurrence, but stopped in Reefton in the hope there would be an activity we could do there. There wasn't, so after we made our dinner carried on to Greymouth, were we found the McDonalds and their Wi-Fi.
