Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
So today I went shopping in the high fashion district! It was insane going into Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Ralph Lauren, etc. It was intense. I totally felt out of place in these high fashion places but I found that attitude goes a long way. Just avoid that shocked face when you get a price and they maybe won't know you don't belong there! Walk straight, good posture, confident walk, and a sort of haphazard browsing. You know, pretend to be paris Hilton or someone like that... and I would say not wearing jeans and tennis shoes would help immensely!
We also found some great area for souvenirs and things (lots of Tour de france stuff!) but the most breath-taking part to me was the view of the river Seine in the morning. It was just so breath-taking. I mean there is no part of Paris that doesn't seem just breath-takingly beautiful. The city is so beautiful and old. It's awe-inspiring. Even just riding the metro is such an experience. It's so hard to describe. It's all so beautiful it' like living in an entirely new world that could never survive back home. Like I'm living in a fragile snow globe that will shatter if it's handled to roughly.
Tomorrow is more walking and shopping and exploring! The catacombs, cemetaries, Notre Dame and a flea market! Even just planning out trips is exciting and you never know where you'll end up, even getting lost isn't a disaster because you find something beautiful everywhere. Walking around makes me confident!
But I am sore. My bag/purse has been hurting my shoulder so today i cut off the top fold over part to make it lighter and it has made a WORLD of difference! My tennis shoes are fabulous! My feet don't hurt at all but my knees are sore. I'm hoping tomorrow I can find a cute small bag and maybe some nice things for people back home. I already have on present for someone and I really hope that it is liked... :)
Bon soir!!
