Left Queenstown with a view to staying at Invercargill. The weather was wet with a lot of low cloud, quite miserable. We had been having trouble with our tap and called in at the Maui centre at Queenstown. A lot of people having trouble with their vans and a German family wanted their towels and sheets changed! Anyway rather than wait we were booked into a garage at Invercargill. All got fixed. Still raining on arrival in Invercargill. We went to the museum and were excited to see the exhibition on the fastest Indian, having watched the film on our return journey from Milford Sound.
We decided to travel on to Dunedin but after shopping and filling up, there was no way we were going to get that far.
But found a really good stop at Curio Bay, and saw a yellow eyed penguin on the beach. Walking round to the next bat we saw Hector Dolphins, the smallest dolphins in the world! After eating we went back to the penguin beach and there were about 14 penguins on the beach at various points. It was very exciting!.
