Bam. Got me. Woke up with Darren's flu thing. Dammit! So Darren and I spent the entire morning sleeping. Fun... Lyle went to check out the railway museum, while we were asleep, and when I eventually woke up it was about 2pm. Still feeling pretty ****, I had some ibuprofen and a shower and felt a little better. We stayed up in the room for a while though, just chilling out and waiting until 4pm, because we get half price food downstairs on a Monday! At 4, we headed downstairs and went for a walk to the pharmacy up the road to buy some flu medicine and some hair ties. Since he's started tying his hair up, Darren has discovered the mystery of the disappearing hair ties.. Where do they go?? We've decided they probably elope with odd socks and disappear forevermore. After the pharmacy we headed back down towards Kennedys for some half price food, via a fudge shop that had free samples. We had a try, and it was so soft and delicious, not like any other fudge I've ever had! We didn't buy any though, but I might come back tomorrow, cos they have a section where you can watch them make it! That would be awesome! We got back to Kennedys only to find they had a power out, so they couldn't cook us anything! So we just went for a bit of a wander. After a bit of a walk we found a place called Oscars, where we went in and got a burger each. While we waited for the food we played a game with the people passing on the street. Our table was at a window, which looked like a doorway, and everyone kept looking over at us, so we decided to freeze whenever anyone passed, pretending we were mannequins. Got a few laughs out of that. The food came out, and it was delicious! Probably the best burgers of the trip! Yum! After lunch/dinner we went for a bit more of a walk around while the sun was still out, and Darren did the perfect photobomb. There was a group of older people taking a photo of themselves in front of the minster, and they even went as far as to ask an Asian couple who were behind them to move out of the way for the photo. So Darren jumped in the back, so close that he looked like he was part of the shot, and no one even noticed! We were halfway down the street when we heard them laugh and they gave him a thumbs up. Pretty funny. Wish I got a shot of it happening! Damn! We kept walking and came across the city walls, which was a different section than what I had walked the other day. The sun was still out, so we thought we'd walk along there for a bit, which was nice. We eventually turned back and walked back along the wall, said hi to some geese and made our way back to the hostel. At the end of the street we saw one of the girls from our dorm so we walked back with her. Back in the room, we just chilled out for a while, had a chat to Lyle (lucky b***** hardly got sick at all, and has been drinking and everything! Not fair!) and had a bit of a joke with one of the other girls in the dorm, who didn't end up staying in the room last night! Lyle went out for dinner and Darren and I had a hot chocolate and just chilled out in the dorm, trying to rest up to actually do stuff tomorrow!! Towards the end of the night, a couple of the other girls came back to the room, Mike from Germany, and Marionne from Norway. We had a good chat and a joke around with them, talking about each others countries, and exchanging travel tips, and making fun of Lyle's snoring! They were really cool! Then after a while we went to sleep.
