"And they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing." This morning we woke up and went into the main house for breakfast. Darren went for a little walk then met us there. We got some porridge and a cooked breakfast, which was pretty yummy. It was cool there, you could order anything you wanted off their menu, and it was all included in the accommodation. Pretty awesome. After breakfast Darren and I went for a walk next door, at Goddards Garden. I don't really know the significance of the place, but it was a big mansion house with a massive garden out the back, that you could walk through. We went down the side, past big sunny greens, then past a veggie garden and green house. When we walked around the back it turned into more of a forest kind of feel, with large trees, and flowers, and ponds and rocks, and birds and bunnies hopping around the place too! Up towards the house it turned into more manicured lawns, fish ponds and flower beds. We didn't end up going into the house, which looked like it was used as a cafe, but as we walked around the front again to leave, we saw a sign for the entrance that had the entry price on it.... Oops! Oh well... We went back to our room, where we chilled out for a while, and I went through the bags, reorganising and getting rid of things we didn't need... Cos with the new clothes we bought, it might be a bit of a struggle getting it all in there! In our room there was a bible (as with most hotels I think!), so I decided I'd have a new tradition. Whenever we stay somewhere with a bible, I'm going to turn to a random page, and try match the quote to something we're doing. So today's quote I've written at the top of this page, and I thought it was pretty fitting, seeing as we're just 'going' for the simple sake of going. And the more we're learning, the more it feels like we really do 'know not any thing'! We went down to the pub again around 2pm, to watch the women's finals at Wimbledon. It was a difficult choice who to go for, Lisicki or Bartoli, because I think they're both really nice and gracious. But I chose Bartoli for the sake of the game. We got some food while we watched the match, then at the end of the match, we went back to our room to watch the interview and ceremony, because there was no sound coming from the TV at the pub. After the match we just stayed in our room, with a few excursions across the road for snacks, and stuff to try help Darren get over his flu thing that he's been fighting the last couple of days. We watched some more TV, and a movie, and went to sleep.
