Kya Travels
Today started VERY early... At ten to five when Lyle stumbled back to the room, very drunk. After mucking around for a while doing who knows what, he eventually made it into bed where he promptly started snoring like a jackhammer. In another 10 minutes, every single person in the dorm room had been woken up. Darren whacked him in the head with a pillow, and he didn't even move. So passed out.. It was funny for about 10 minutes... Then it was annoying. Then it was really annoying!! After several pillow whacks, and trying to get him to roll over, he finally half rolled over, and we thought it was all good. Tried to go back to sleep when he starts snoring AGAIN! Ridiculously loud! Darren ended up chucking a shoe at him, that landed right next to his head and still didn't wake him up! After an hour and a half of this, the quiet little Asian girl in the bed next to us was getting up, and even passed Darren another one of Lyles shoes to throw at him! Hilarious. Eventually we got him to actually wake up and roll over and the snoring stopped. At 6.30. An hour and a half of keeping everyone awake. And then the construction workers outside started! Worst sleep ever! I reckon I probably only got a couple of hours sleep all up! Eventually it was time to get up, cos we had to check out before 10. We got ready, had a shower in the best showers so far, got our bags packed, headed downstairs and checked out. We walked down the street to find the bus stop, and waited for the right number bus. When it came, we showed the driver where we were going so he could help us out with where to get off. They were swapping drivers, but he passed the information on to the next driver for us, which was so nice of him! When we were at the stop, the driver told us, and we got off, even though I thought we were a bit further off than we were supposed to be... Should have trusted my instincts, we had about a ten minute walk ahead of us to the B&B, and we passed about 3 more bus stops on the way! Already super tired and grumpy, that didn't make me feel any better! We eventually got there and went inside to wait for the owner to come out. He came out and fixed up the bill and everything, and showed us to our room, which was outside in a separate set of buildings. Which I think was a good thing, as the main house seemed super old and dusty, and Darren's hayfever had started setting off already! He showed us to our room, which seemed really nice, with an old school charm about it. He was up for a bit of a chat, so we talked to him for a while, then eventually he left us to it. Lyle went straight in to the other room to go back to sleep, and Darren and I went for a walk up the street while the sun was out. Up the street a bit we came across a Tesco's Superstore, which is a supermarket here, but this one had all other things too, like a clothes department, optician, cafe, etc etc etc. so we went in to have a look for some clothes, cos we'd been meaning to get some new socks and undies for a while! After we shopped around and bought a few new clothes, we started walking back and stopped at a place called The Sandwich Bar for some lunch and a cold drink. I had a delicious salad sandwich, with the softest, nicest bread ever, and Darren got a panini. (But he was jealous of my sanga!) After lunch we walked back to the B&B where we watched a little TV, and had a very much needed nap. We didn't get up til dinner time! When we eventually all got up and were feeling alive again, we headed across the road for dinner at a pub called Crossed Keys, which had recently changed management and opened up again. We got a table and ordered some dinner. There was a super cute and massive German Shepherd wandering around, that must have been one of the owners dogs, but he didn't come to us for a pat. :( :( Our meals came out, and we ate. Lyle got an entree but his main never came.. Eventually he went to ask for it, and they brought it out, along with another soup and risotto! We didn't take them, cos we'd already had them, but they must have thought he meant none of our food had come! We got asked another 3 times if we'd got our food, and I reckon we could have got three meals each if we'd tried!! So they must be still ironing out the bumps in the change of management! After dinner we went next door to the servo and grabbed some lollies for dessert, then chilled out on the bed watching some TV. Lyle joined us (there was no TV in his room), and we watched the semifinal of the Wimbledon, Murray vs Janowics, (Go Murray!) then a movie called Coming to America, then went to sleep.
