Kya Travels
We got up today after sleeping all morning, then spent the afternoon in the hotel common room using the wifi. Such a lazy day! At one stage Amy and I went across the road to the train station to look up how much the tickets to the beach were for tomorrow. After deciding they were a very reasonable price, Amy and I left Darren in the room, relaxing, and went down to the supermarket to pick up some snacks. We were going to try that picnic idea again! So we bought some more wine, cheese, crackers and other snack foods, then went back to the hotel. After a bit of a chat between the three of us to clear some minor tension that had cropped up a bit earlier, we were all friends again (and probably for the better!), and went for a walk into the city. We walked down along the riverfront and found a patch of grass that no one was using (everyone seemed to have the same picnic idea!), and sat down to have a drink and a bite. It was a lot of fun, and someone on the other side of the longer grass was playing guitar and we sung along to that for a bit. It was a great night! When we had finished all our food, we walked up through the streets and into the city to find somewhere to have a beer before we headed home. We found an American pub called the Grind House, where we umm-ed and aah-ed about going in before we went in. (On the up side I found a pair of bright orange sunnies while I was waiting for us to decide!) We eventually went in, and were glad we were! It was a nice change to have people who actually spoke English serving us, and we watched a game of beer pong going on in the back room too! When they were finished, we decided to have a go at it (Me and Darren vs Amy and some random French guy we made friends with!), where Darren and I lost abysmally, because nobody thought it would be a good idea to tell us the rules before we started! (Plus I'm a really bad aim!) After a few more drinks, we ended up making friends with a bunch of locals who invited us back to one of their houses for a drink! We got a few sneaky beers to take away from the bar, then started the walk to the guy's house. (Can't remember his name!!) When we were out the front of the bar, Darren decided he needed to pee, so he went behind a random car to be discreet, and when I looked back, he was holding his face and had apparently been punched in the face by the owner of the car, who must have thought Darren was peeing on his car! (Which he wasn't!) After the sucker punch, they checked their car and drove off pretty quickly! They must have realized they'd punched someone for no reason! Lucky they punched him where they did though, because he didn't get punched anywhere important, like the temples or something, and he didn't get a black eye, so he was pretty lucky! I had to almost hold Amy back from giving the girls in the car a piece of her mind, which could have resulted in two punched faces rather than one! Then when they left we continued on our way and went back to French-guy-whatshisname's house where we had some of the drinks we had bought. We had a bit of a jam in the music room at their house, the guy was also a bass player, and his friend was a drummer, but their other friend who had come back with us was a little bit weird and creepy and kind of took over and made us want to leave the music room because he was too creepy, (plus the guitars were so **** they couldn't hold a tune), so we left the music room not long after we entered! The weird drunk guy continued to be weird and a bit of a creep, and his girlfriend didn't think anything of it, so we just had to put up with it. But the guy whose house it was, and the other guy, Louis, were so nice, and we had many drinks together while Amy was sleeping (aka passed out) on the couch! Towards the end of the night, maybe around 3-4am, we went upstairs and realized that Amy wasn't there anymore and we started to freak out a bit! So we said goodbye to the other guys and headed out to try find her! Louis came with us, he was such a nice guy! It turned out she was just on the steps outside the apartment, so we were very relieved and told her not to do anything like that again, but it turned out the creepy guy had been coming upstairs and being a bit of a creep with her, so she had decided to get away, which was fair enough, but I wish she had let us know, cos we freaked out a little bit!!! When we found her we said goodbye and thanks to Louis, then started the walk back to the hotel. I don't remember much of the walk except that Any knew the way and I didn't (it's very weird for me when I don't know where I am!), and we eventually got back to the hotel and went upstairs and passed out in bed!
