Wednesday 30th September - The Morning Train to Castres
Jan woke and had an epiphany during the night. What say we catch the train to Castres and leave the car where it is and that way we still have a park? Parking around here is a real problem as it's a one way street, not very wide, with parking down one side of it.
When we arrived Michael was going to show me where to park and someone in a smaller car pulled out from behind us so I backed up and then with some guidance parked the car and that's where it has stayed.
Jan immediately got on her tablet and found that there was a train from Gare Matabiau SNCF to Castres at 11.10am.
We caught the B metro line to Jean Jaures and then changed to the A line for one stop and got off at Marengo. We walked up to the Matabiau station and bought ourselves two OAP tickets for €46 return so that's €11.50 per person each leg of the journey. Not too bad as the distance to Castres is about 76kms.
We had a coffee at Paul's and a pastry each, no sharing this morning. A couple of times we have asked for a pastry or croissant at coffee time only to be told Too Late, All Finished!
