Thursday 1st October - Lunch by The Garonne

We eventually found our way down to the banks of the Garonne and there was a lovely little cafe set into the wall of the river. "Pecheurs du Sable" and the chap serving behind the counter actually came outside to show us the menu on the boards outside. He spoke little English but knew the All Blacks and was a passionate rugby fan. He even suggested that we come down to the boat tonight and watch the two games and he would serve us dinner!

When our lunch was ready he called out "Kevin from New Zealand" so I went over and got the two plates and two very cloudy beers. Fois gras for Jannie and a duck sandwich for moi.
