Wednesday 30th September - Train to Castres
We went up to the platform and the train arrived and we got on board and had a 10 minute wait but that was ok and the train didn't have many passengers at this stage.
The train pulled out right on time and we flashed along the countryside and stopped at five other stations before it was our turn to get off.
Fortunately for us lots of other people also got off and legged it along the road so we followed and then everybody either seemed to disappear of turned off.
We saw the sign "Tout Directions". Now the thing is after our last train journey we haven't got much faith in "Tout Directions" so we asked a man and he spoke no English but got the woman next door who wasn't much better but we got the information that we were to walk to the fir tree and turn gauche (left) and that is the way town is.
Well it took us 30 minutes and finally we got to the information centre but it was closed for 2 hours. Typical small town France.
We found the Jean Jaures Square together with a statue of him and we walked across it to one of several cafes which had all of the smokers outside and there was a cold wind blowing. Initially we sat outside too but decided to move inside to a window seat so we could people watch whilst we had lunch.
I was busting to go so off I went and when I came back there were two beers on the table waiting for me! Good training!
