Tuesday 29th September - Hop On Bus
We got along to where the bus was to go from and the bus was there but no one was in site and we were a bit early so we snuck into a pub and had a coffee and a chat to the barman who hailed from Lyon but had been in Toulouse for 14 years.
Upon heading out to get on the bus the rain had stopped and the other 8 passengers were already on the bus so we climbed on board and after about 10 minutes we moved off with English translation in the earphones.
The tour took us to parts of Toulouse that we would never have seen and gave us an historic tour that was very interesting.
Some streets we went down a couple of times and the glass topped bus became very hot. Normally the glass tops are folded forward to that it is very well ventilated.
We saw the Canal du midi, the Garonne River, lots of churches, Roman walls, museums, sculptures, gardens, the Palais du Justice and law courts. It's a big city and there is no hope of seeing it all but was a great way to see a little bit.
We got off the bus at Jean Jaure Metro station and called it a day. We wanted to book a trip to the Airbus factory for Thursday but when we tried we couldn't get on any tours until after we have left Toulouse. Bummer!!
