We said goodbye to some of the group who were staying in Paris and headed back to London. This time Francesco took the bus across on the Channel Ferry (left hand drive, remember?...he was a very skilful driver). We made good time and were back in London around 1:30pm. This time we stayed at the Lincoln House Hotel at Marble Arch. It was very quaint but the room was incredibly squashy. Thankfully we had only one night here.

We slept in for a while this morning on our last day in London. Gail had had a bad night coughing so we went to St Thomas Hospital which was only a short walk along the river. It was a very nice hospital, there was hardly anyone there and Gail was able to have a consultation very quickly without an appointment. Tomorrow, we are off to Europe, so at least Gail now has some antibiotics.

Today we took a cruise down the Thames from Westminster Pier to Greenwich. I had waited for years to see the Cutty Sark but still couldn't because it was hoarded off and under repair since a fire some years earlier. It's supposed to reopen next year. Oh well, will just have to go back another time. We visited Westminster Abbey today where Prince William and Kate Middleton will be married next year and we saw the tombs of many kings and queens from history. Gail wasn't feeling well so we left her resting at the hotel while we went to London Zoo again. This morning we purchased 3-day London Passes which would allow us to visit heaps of attractions for no additional charge. We had our first ride on the underground from Embankment (which is just around the corner from Citadines) to Tower Hill. From there it was a short walk down to the Tower of London which was so big and fascinating that we spent most of the day there.
