We are very sad to be leaving Villa Renos. Our hosts Petros, Zina and Vassilis made us feel so welcome and gave us an emotional farewell. Vassilis arranged a taxi to transport us to the airport. It was chaotic at the airport and took ages to check in. Thankfully our flight was delayed as we may not have made it otherwise. Eventually we boarded Aegean Flight 355 (Airbus A321-200 rego SX-DVO) for the short flight back to Athens. Gail and I had to sit separately. The girl I sat next to was going back to London but it turned out she had grown up in Samford!

We were met at the airport by our personal taxi driver Giannis who drove us to our next hotel Divani Caravel. This is a big flash hotel but seems very impersonal compared to Hotel Ava and Villa Renos. The location is also not too convenient and there is no free wifi! We are only here because this is the appointed meeting place for our Insight Tour which starts today/tomorrow. We met our Tour Director Bill McMahon on arrival and met again for an official welcome dinner where Bill told us a bit about the trip and we met the rest of the party...mostly Australians and Americans of varying ages.
