Got up early today, about 7.30am for run around the tan! Feel like a Melbourner already!! Placed was packed and it was a lovely morning for it. Did 3 laps of the 4km stretch..I had my mind on all the drink I'd have today when our Sydney guests arrived!!
After quick shower and change, Carol's cousin Patrick and fiancé Lindsay called over.
After meet/greet at the apartment, we headed off for breakfast, or as Patrick called it, 'food and beer'.
Into a place called World we went, had scrambled eggs and bacon, Defo nicest yet I've had. (oh yeah, it came with a pint as well ;-)).
So we went into PJs (irish bar) for a sight of beer, we all placed money into a kitty and things were pretty bad by the time David came in after work about 4.30pm. Carol went home to get changed (I didnt as I wasn't finished drinking and mammy told me I should never be a quitter!).
Carol came in later on with my gear and after a quick superman in the toilets, it was off to Glasgow Celtic v Melbourne Victory!
The game was attended by about 25000 (in a 60000 stadium and the c**ts still had the gut to charge us 35 bucks) and the drinks were still flowing at the match even though it was clear some ppl didn't need them (ahem...).
Still great game, celts won 1-0, they looked like they didn't give a s***e but it was cool to see them in Melbourne.
During match I spotted a lad that looked like Rod Stuart, so I started a 'we are sailing' chant and even got a pic taken with him. He was all like 'no, no, go away' but the bollix was loving it.
After the match, we headed back to PJs Irish bar, don't know how I got in but later the bouncers told me I was too cool to stay in the bar so they asked me to leave (i.e. I was asleep on chair). Went to crown eatery after that for some grub, don't remember much to be honest (as I type this carol i telling me what happened..the benefits of marriage!).
