After the mad night out, I woke. Turned to left, head not so bad, turned to right, head not so bad.
Thought I'd feel a lot worse after last night, especially after polishing off the bones of a bottle of captain Morgans between myself and david! Was a great night but maybe the 2 girls were not very impressed with out sing song at 4am in the morning but i thought we were quite good!!
Carol went to gym early on in morning giving me a few extra hours sleep in! Totally needed!!
After we for showered and changed etc we visited Queen Victoria market which had, no s***ting you, 12 million stalls. Hands down, the biggest Market ever! They had everything, pets, fruit, clothes, electrical gadgets, the lot...
We had some lunch there in one of the many stalls, (tried getting bratwurst but queue was 10 deep!).
After markets the Melbourne Gael was a short 20 min walk up road. Armed with our 'student IDs' we strolled into the jail (they didn't even ask for our IDs...says a lot).
We strolled through the many cells which had lots of stories about prisoners including Ned Kelly, the infamous Australian outlaw. It was 3 floors of jail with but rooms converted I to touristy rooms, but still a great experience.
After the tour, we had the chance and were nominated for the Ned Kelly trail exhibition. I was the lead prosecutor and Carol was one of key witnesses in front of about 60 ppl!I had about 6 mins of speech, Hollywood here I come!!! Defo one of the best experiences I have ever did.
After court it was time for watch tower tour. Didn't know what to expect but the aim of the tour was to give you an idea of how prisoners were treated In this area. We were split men v women, locked up in cells, lights turned of etc. Quite a surreal experience and something I would recommend.
At the end we were even allowed to take mug shot photos. Facebookphoto.com!!
We walked back to apartment via Melbourne central shopping mall which had class clock which did a little show on every hour! Such a cool place with a lot of hip folk!
Met Sinèad and David @ apartment and after some food we headed down the Great Ocean Road! (not that we would see much since it was nightfall).
After a quick stretchy leg stop off in Lorne we arrived at our hostel in apollo bay about 3 hours after leaving Melbourne. The hostel advertised it's Eco friendliness and it was certainly that. Music playing in every hall way abd a very relaxed atmosphere, it was like a get well clinic..but possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed in.
Didn't go out that night, we were all spent but after driving through Apollo, there probably wasn't a great deal going on anyway! Looking forward to this pillow in front on me!
