Today I took part in an Adventure Ride around Darwin in memory of a great bloke, Bill Laver, who committed suicide last week due to depression. It was very sad to hear of his passing as he was very well known within the Adventure Riding community. This ride was one of several organised rides throughout Australia. Today we left our caravan at Mardugal and drove to Jabiru to have a look around. After a coffee and phone calls to family we set off for Ubirr Rock (pronounced oo-birr). We arrived in the Kakadu National Park yesterday and set up our campsite at a bush camp called Mardugal. We had a choice of almost anywhere in the park as there was only one other camper there, but only a section of the park allowed generator usage. Arrived at Edith Falls after having lunch in Katherine. We also popped in to the Tourist Information Centre, which was very informative! The staff there were very helpful with up to date knowledge and advice for the National Park camping areas, we were very impressed with their customer service!
