Today we left our caravan at Mardugal and drove to Jabiru to have a look around. After a coffee and phone calls to family we set off for Ubirr Rock (pronounced oo-birr). Ubirr Rock is an easy climb and there are several ancient Aboriginal Rock Art sites along the way. When you get to the pinnacle of Ubirr Rock there is a sensational view over to Arnhem Land which I imagine the promised land in Biblical times would've looked like. It looks like a paradise with waterways, trees and all looking very green, just beautiful! While we were at the top of Ubirr Rock we saw a family that we had met at Edith Falls and we spent the rest of the day with them, finishing up at the Cooinda Resort swimming pool to cool off after a long day. After pizza, chips and a few drinks we headed back to camp for a good nights sleep ready for our last leg to Darwin.

Yoga I've been walking in the wet sesaon in Kakadu for 30 years. It's fantastic! Sadly, even most of the people who live in Darwin don't realise what a great place it is in the Wet. I did a two week walking trip in Kakadu in January. You can see photos from that trip on my Facebook page at . Hold your cursor over the photos to see short stories about each photo. If the direct link doesn't work, you should be able to get there from the on my website. You don't have to do a major bushwalk like we did to get to some of those places. The first and tenth photos are on the marked trails at Yurmikmik. The final one is at the end of the marked trail to Gubara. Anyone can do those or the Yellow Waters cruise, very different in the Wet to the Dry. If this post inspires at least one visit, It's done it's job.
