This was Lucy's favourite place when she came in November 2011 so I couldn't wait to go! Getting off at the pier was a lovely first start as the surroundings looked beautiful, this was the first time we haven't had to barter for ten minutes and jump in a tuk tuk after travelling. As it's such a small island you can walk two minutes to the first hotel, we had already decided on Phi Phi hotel decided to treat ourselves as majority have really bad reviews which I was surprised at with it being a popular, more expensive island! We aren't travellers who like to slum it so couldn't get us in a hut up the hill for less than half the price... Our first night we went for tea and were stuck in the restaurant for ages due to a tropical rainstorm! It was ankle deep when we made a run for it back to the hotel so didn't bother going out. Both so disappointed as nightlife is really good here, the next night certainly made up for it though! Next day the sunshine was back and I got my own way - dippy eggs for breakfast yey!! Spent the day at our fav place (the beach) love it when you can see the long tail boats in the sea makes the whole beach look better... Hmm just me?!

Our evening started with tea and our only glass of Rosè on the whole trip it was literally like heaven drinking it as nowhere sells it! The waiter was hot too so was a good meal :) went to a few bars around the centre and realised we were sticking out like sore thumbs as so overdressed! Off we went back to the hotel to get changed, hoping no cockroaches were lurking as woke up to a huge one that morning! We did find another one though running about our room uhhhh good job we were tipsy so just legged it out the room and headed to Slinkeys on Phi Phi beach! This was a fantastic night I even climbed (got thrown up) the massive pole which everyone was having a go of thinking I was superwoman, Lucy got stuck hanging from the top haha! Safe to say we missed breakfast the next morning which I was gutted about as it was lovely! We took advantage of our pool this day felt like a luxury as we have hardly had any where we have stayed!! Phi Phi has a small selection of nice restaurants the ones I ate at were - Anna's, Unni's and Matts Joint! All good food and we kept alternating them for dinner/tea. Oreo milkshakes won me over!! This night we didn't really have a late one as going on the Maya Bay camping trip the next day... Tbc...

After doing Maya Bay and three nights in Koh Lanta we decided to have one more night in Phi Phi as the weather spoilt one of our nights! This time we booked into the Marine hotel as it was only for the one night, what we spent on Phi Phi hotel wasn't worth it and I was mortified at the cockroaches!! We checked into a room which was just behind the reception desk, how private? Not! It wasn't a great room but we have had worse... Spent the day looking around Phi Phi island and even walked up to the viewpoint! Thought I was going to pass out there were so many steep steps but it was 100% worth it the view was amazing and we got up just in time for sunset! The only thing that spoilt it was the rude couple who got in everyone's pictures as they thought they owned the main rock and wouldn't move! When we got back down our legs wouldn't stop shaking, so unfit although the walking we have done lately we shouldn't be! We then made our way back to get dolled up! Lucy had a major incident with the glass door in the bathroom and while I went to get help got sidetracked by the fastest cockroach ever ran into our room argh could only happen to us two! People must think we are crazy!! After sorting everything it was time to party... Later we ended up right in the sea as the tide was so far out still dancing as could hear the bars pumping music!! We stayed out until as late as possible to avoid the dreaded room, Lucy made me get a pizza slice the size of a whole pizza! Always a good idea when drunk!! We passed out for a couple of hours and now back on the earliest ferry to Phuket needed to get out that room! Still feeling worse for wear but had a great night... :)
