We flew here from Phuket and the fun really started when STA couldn't be bothered to get back to us, we desperately needed to change our flights as could not find any suitable accommodation in Melbourne because the Aussie Grand Prix just so happened to be on the same weekend. Decided to move here for our last few days before Oz as Patong was getting abit too much... It is a a lot less busy/sleazy resort and has a whole more up market feel it will definitely be a favourite soon as more restaurants/bars/hotels are starting to open. We stayed at Rama Kata which was a brand new hotel it was lovely best bed I have slept on in two month and had a gorgeous breakfast every morning! BEST experience ever.... We had to meet on the pier at 1530 where we got on the boat to start our Maya Bay camping trip! We were told it was just a small group, sixteen of us but we thought this was a better way to get to know people!
