Happiness Is The Road
It hadn't been a quiet night. When we'd got to the site yesterday a very elderly guy had checked us in and then asked Barry to show us to our spot. He asked where we'd prefer to go. We told him that we were tired after a night at the garage and asked for somewhere quiet. Which bit of the word quiet he didn't understand we'll never know but it was noisy as hell. We were near the camp kitchen with people there who sounded like they'd been plugged into a PA system and there was bassy thud thud thud music coming from somewhere later on. We just about managed to drown it all out with the whirring noise coming from our fan and slept like babies until about 6.30 when some inconsiderate young f**ckers plugged themselves back into the PA. From experience it appears that the word quiet is not understood by many people. We didn't want to have breakfast here so we showered and left. We got our brekky when we stopped at a rest area a few kilometres down the road. The intention today was to stay tonight at either Agnes Water or the Town Of 1770. Lonely Planet said that 1770 is yet to be overwhelmed by her majesty's masses. This didn't hold true as the place was rammed and the camp sites here were full. It was a cute little place though and we stopped here to grab some lunch. We also gave our brand new orange frisbee it's inaugural throw on the beach. We went to a camp site at Agnes Water that was a little bit inland. It was actually very quiet here and in a lovely bush setting. When we had settled in we went for a mooch and foun a couple of kangaroos at the back of the camp site. It very much looked like we had disturbed a couple of young lovers. They looked like teenage kangaroos. The male was constantly touching the females tail which appears to be his way of telling her that he wants to get amorous. She was playing hard to get though but he didn't give up trying. We eventually retreated back to the camper van and left them alone to get it on.
