Last Day!! I can't believe its already the last day of our yoga retreat. I have been awake since 2am thinking about my wonderful and enlightening time here and what direction my path will take from here. Meditation started and I was happy to quiet my mind and enjoy the orchestra of beautiful sounds going on around me. The yoga class followed and today we had music and were able to do our own warm-ups which was a welcome change. After yoga class we had our graduation circle and it was incredible: we sat in a nice circle shared some delicious tea, got presented with our certificates and holly food - the most amazing chocolate chip cookie I have ever eaten and then had a sharing circle giving thanks for our experiences. Everyone shared beautiful words and when it came to me I blurted out all the feelings from my heart and realized how lucky and grateful I was for the experience - I even got a few tears in the eyes. I have said it for last month but this place truly is special and what I have learned in this short time will forever change my course in life. A few of the girls were off on the 2pm bus so we gave hugs, said goodbyes and promised to meet up somewhere along the road. I should be sad to have to leave tommorow but I am not; instead I am full of gratitude and happiness and am proud of my progress and achievements. And after being vegan for a month I thought I would crave meat of some sort but I do not have that feeling at all. I still have the thought to go to Mazunte to do the 10 day silence but I also have the urge to get back on the road and see Mexico - incorporating a daily meditation and yoga practice. Old habits are back and I feel myself slipping but that's alright I am aware of my downfalls now and I walk the road learning from my thoughts, emotions and actions and in this way I shall become my own teacher on the way to enlightenment. After a huge lunch of salad, tortillas, sweet potato and the rest of my leftover food I headed down the dock for one last look and contemplation session. Today there was a young local kid sitting at dock that I struck up a conversation with and he ended up teaching me some local language and sharing some wild fruits he had just picked - it was a nice change and I welcomed the conversation. The afternoon I spent packing and deciding on what I could leave behind here in San Marcos and then I uploaded all my photos from my month here at San Marcos. Tomorrow Mexico yewwww!!
