Our friends Meralon and Randal own and operate a sightseeing/fishing charter called Pristine Charters out of Powell River. They do customized cruises including lunch cruises, dinner cruises, sightseeing tours, fishing tours and even overnight excursions.

We left Lund with a group of friends that we had met in Melaque - Linda, Dale, Bob, Steve and Lisa; along of course with Meralon and Randal and our special captain Benson. Benson is the cutest little dog captain you will ever meet - he is only 7 months old and is a rescue dog from Mexico.

Our destination for the evening was Desolation Sound. Usually the first stop on their dinner cruises is at the prawn traps however since we had cleaned them out the night before for our huge feast we did not do this.

Along the way we got to see some seals - hugh fat animals that did not want us to get too close.

A little while later we stopped the boat and to our amazement when Randal whistled a couple of time two huge eagles arrived and soared overhead. They recoqnized the boat and knew that they were in for a treat - chicken popcicles. As Randal through the frozen chicken thigh into the water one of the eagles swooped down and grabbed it. Then it was time for the second one to get it's treat.

The views in Desolation Sound were spectacular as was the grand dinner we had. We dined on New York Steak, Baked Chicken, Printine Potatoes (which tasted a lot like Aylen Lake Potatoes), salad with homemade dressings, homemade bread from Nancy's Bakery at the Lund Marina and Nanaimo bars.

It was a wonderful tour and we are so grateful to have such giving friends.
