What a great time we had in the Calgary/Okotoks area. We were very lucky to be able to set up our trailer at our friends Barb and Blaine's place. The Trust Mural in Cochrane Alberta is quite the work of art - or I should say works of art. It is a mural that is made of 216 individual pictures - 18 x 12 pictures. These were created by 160 artists. Check out the pictures!

Today the rain seemed to follow us wherever we went. First off we went to see Lake Moraine which is the lake featured on the Canadian $20 bill. It is surrounded by 10 mountain peaks and is filled with glacier water giving it the beautiful turquoise blue colour. Despite the rain, fog and mist today we managed to pack in a few of out "bucket list". We headed off towards Banff from Lake Louise using the Bow River Parkway as this promised to be a more scenic route with better chances of seeing wildlife. This it gave us with 2 male elk, 2 large black bears and 3 mountain goats. Unfortunately we have yet to see cubs or female elk with their babies. Today we put 484 km on the car and put in an 11 hour day that included going all the way to Jasper and back. We left around 9:30 am and just outside the campground there was a young women hitchhiking on the side of the road. Her backpack was bigger then she was so we stopped to give her a ride.
