Happy Birthday to our Daughter-in-Law Kristy!
Well I read lots about rv travelling before we left and for the most part everyone said to have a plan but to expect the unexpected as you travel - things go wrong or you may hear of attractions or places from other people that you want to see. So be flexible - which for me is difficult but I am so glad that I am heading everyone's advise.
As we were having supper last night I asked Jack if he knew where our friends John and Trish live and he said "somewhere in Illinois" - however we did not have an address. So I checked out Trish's Facebook page and it said she lived in Biggsville, Illinois. So out came the maps (and Internet as Biggsville was not on our map) and we discovered that the town was just south of the I80 which we were going to be travelling on. We sent a Facebook message off but did not get any reply so a little later in the day we sent an email and Trish answered almost immediately. Her reply was "come now" and she gave us her phone number.
With that we called and she gave us directions and said that there would be a few cars in the driveway. Well there were a lot of cars, balloons, decorations as it was their Granddaughter Emma's graduation from high school. We had arrived during a hugh party with lots of food, friends, family and of course music!
We met John and Trish in Bucerias, Mexico when they were living fulltime in San Pancho. Lots of fun as they were part of the Redneck Mothers, Bubba and the Bottom Feeders as well as having a bar in San Pancho. Such good times. They later moved down to Barra with the gang but have decided that they now want to spend more time with the family here in Illinois. They live on one of the family properties with the original house and lots of woods out back. They have built a "green barn" which is a beautiful party room for the family, complete with kitchen, washroom, lounge area, fireplace and of course a "stage". Along with all of the family gatherings hosted here they have a weekly jam session every Saturday. You can tell that this is a very close family and I can see why John and Trish love it here.
We got to meet lots of family: Trish's 2 sisters Marsha and Mary, their son Brett and his wife Jane along with their 3 children, Ben, Emma and of course right now I can't remember the oldest grandson's name. Their other son and daughter-in-law and their 3 teenage girls live in Pennsylvania so were not able to make it but John and Trish will be going their in a couple of weeks as their oldest will be graduating. We also met Trish's friend from schooldays - Kay - and tons of other folks.
Tomorrow we are going to stay for a little while and visit with John and Trish and then we will be on our way to Des Moines (at least that is what we think J )

Diana I can't imagine how pleased Trish and John were that you were able to make the stop in on your journey and wonderful timing to be able to meet members of their family.
