For the last two days we have been touring around the Black Hills of South Dakota. There truly is tons to see and do here. Yesterday, Friday, we went on one of the most crazy roads I have ever been on. Thank God we did not have the trailer with us. It is called the Needles Highway and it runs through Custer State Park. Day 8 of our travels saw us visiting Custer State Park. We drove the Wildlife Loop and were very happy to see lots of animals. We saw Buffalo, White tail deer, Mule deer, Prairie dogs, Pronghorns and Bighorn sheep. Unfortunately we haven't seen any Elk yet. Today we passed through lots of farmland including 2 very large "windmill" farms in Iowa - west of Des Moins. After having lunch in the Walmart parking lot - this is great being able to make lunch yourself - we did a bit of shopping at the Walmart. About an hour from Mitchell, South Dakota where we were going to stop for the night we saw several hugh signs along the road - Cowboy Town! - Live Buffalo Heard ! so we decided to pull off and see what it was about....
