Day 9 3/9/2018
A walk around the lake and lots more
Well it’s Monday morning and the plans in place ,up early ,breakfast, shower, and go . We off to revisit a lake we look upon five days ago Schwarzsee lake which is approximately 1.5 is long x1.0 wide so roughly that makes it a comfortable walking distance for all of us ,that being Shirley,Michelle and myself. This a beautiful time of the year here as it is just before the winter season so tourist are not here in their droves any doing a walk like this mean piece and quite , so quite you could hear just about every cow bell throughout the valley. But as I was about to find out cows are not the only beasts to have bells, along the track we run smack bam into a herd of goats , their bells are smaller but when all are moving at the one time the noise is deafening. As they appeared a strange noise also became noticeable and looking up , to my disbelief was a brown coloured game of thrones dragon , smoke coming from its nose and it eyes changing from black to red each time the smoke appeared, absolutely fantastic. The fact that it was high in the trees really is what made it work so well. The goats are used to keep the bushes and grass down along the walking track and it seem to be working. We are just about to finish the when this loud commotion was coming from behind us , and there coming down the main road was not one or two milking cows but a whole herd , with bells on every one of them . There where big bells on some and smaller bells on other , there was black and white, there was brown and white, and there were some who were just brown , the noise their bells made brought even the local out on to the street. The reason this was happening was that the cow are brought down from the high land at this time of year so that they can be housed in the barn that is connected to the farmhouse during the winter snow.we really enjoyed this as it was something different.
From here we went and picked up Danielle to go and a Chinese lunch . It was banquet type so there was plenty of food and for 20 frank well worth going. We tried for wifi but alas not here either getting worried I lose you .
Shirley had made an appointment to have a massage with a Switz woman ,all I can say is she was a very BIG woman, huge was the term I heard . While she was there I went with Danielle and Michelle’s friends and waited for Shirley . They all spoke French and I know words like wee wee, only kidding I know nothing , so I sat with a beer and some tarts that both ladies had made , and listen and smiled when I thought that it sounded funny and also at their hand gestures , very much like the Italian . It was very enjoyable and they were lovely people to met.
From here when Shirley joined us, we went further up into the Mountains. Here Michelle showed us new houses, old churches, the highest places where he would go mushrooming. He took us to this lovely little coffee shop high in the mountains, it had been there since 1997, I had beer and Shirley and Michelle had an ice coffee ,it was huge twice the size of any I had ever seen ,there wasn’t any milk , mainly cream and Coffee flavoured ice cream, to big for Shirley so of course I was called upon to finish it , it was really good.
Tomorrow is a big day, we are off to Interlaken about 1.5 hours travel. So that is all for today’s adventure ,Shirley and I will see you in the next blog, until then stay safe and well.
