Day 11 6/9/201
Had to try the water
Today was to be a slower day then we have become accustomed to, sleep in, have breakfast, laze around and than at 12.30, Sebastian was coming to take us to lake Geneva to a town called Lutry .
It started that way but Danielle who is 71 was trying to mow the lawns and her back was in pain so I asked if I could do it , she agreed and hour later it was done. I was writing my blog then Danielle needed to go and pick up her grandson, so she ask me to cook the pasta for lunch of course I agreed.
When she came home,Gabriel was full of play so I kept him entertained playing with his toy trucks ,a bit of soccer and other things. Lunch was served then time for a snooze as Sebastian was going to be late leaving his work, nap time.
I awoke to the sound of “John his here”, it is now 2.00 in the car and away , Sebastian knew how to handle his car and we arrived a our destination in no time at all.
Sebastian was having sailing lesson to get his boat licence, it was booked for 2hours, we end up just 15minutes late. While he was sailing we went exploring, just a very small part of this lakeside town ,pretty as a picture.New town same tradition find a wine bar which we did and were able to taste one of the nicest white so far, also had wifi that was good. The 2hours flew passed and Sebastian was once again on dry land , we had a drink with him and the he took us to see his yacht at a tiny village of Chellreax on another lake not far from were we started. Nice yacht, nice area , so as we walking down to the lake Shirley said “bet that water is cold,” Sebastian said “no it’s not , try it”, so she did . One minute she was there next we hear a squeal and there is no Shirley, she had got to the last two steps, they were wet and slippery and she was sitting on the second last step ringing wet from the waste down, but it wasn’t cold which was important.
When we reached the end of the walk we were no more 3ks from the shores of France, everything is so close in Europe. Time to head for home, but before we go Sebastian invites us to enjoy a wine at this tiny camping outlet pub , of course we say yes as this continues our tradition ,we all had a white wine not as good as the wine in Lutry.
It is now 6.00pm and now we really have to get home as Sebastian has to pick up his youngest son and get home for tea as his wife is going out. We arrive home and tonight we are having something my Mum use to make Cheese Fondo. This is Michelle’s specialty and it is made from two types of cheeses, very rich but nice for me but for Shirley it didn’t agree and she was very sick during the night, just wasn’t her best day by far, she is still sleeping as I’m writing.
Let’s hope that this is a one off and all will back to normal today as Danielle has another adventure planned today.
Well, that’s all for this blog, we will see you again in a few days when we again find a wifi connection. If you can send me emails about the footballs scores please.
Keep looking after each other, know we love you all .
Shirley and John.
