Day 10 4/9/2018
Interlaken and surrounds Oh what a day.

Early start to the day as we are travelling our furthest adventure so far , we are going to Interlaken. It is around 110k from our camp so we have left by 8:30 am approximately 1.5 drive. The beauty of the countryside is breath taking the green valleys , the vertical terrain, the snow covered mountain peaks and the water ways that carry the turquoise colour right through to the lake and the lake we will see is Lake Brienze and the Thum lake which are very close together.
The town of Thun is at one end of Lake Thun and Interlaken at the other. We stop at Interlaken first ,it is a busy tourist spot and its main draw card is the mighty Jungfrau the tallest mountain in Switzerland,on the left of it stands the Monch and the Eiger mountains. We walk for while looked in the shops as the girls like to see the style of clothes plus gasp at the prices ,then we found a café which was called hooters ,good coffee and yes WiFi . So I decided to stay and upload my blog and pictures while they continue window shopping
I finish my stuff and started walking in the direction they went and in 10 metres there they where. I have some great pictures of the Jungfrau at lake level and also some of the tandem parachute floating around in the sky and they seemed to be jumping off a cliff that made them look like ants.
Michelle suggested we go to the Beatenbaucht chair lift ,the top of it is 1950 metres above sea level. The mountain we go up is the Niederhorn which means little Jungfrau. First we ride a funicular and then a cable car to the top , the scenes are stunning , not many on so moving around in the cable car made photos easy. We reach the top in 15-20 minutes and voila magnifique . You have to be able to step off on this mountain top to truly appreciate this view which surround you in 360 degrees. Just to mention a few the Justis Valley, the birds eyed view of the lake Thun the close up view of the three main mountains on the other side of the lake , it is if you can stretch out and touch them.
You probably guess what came next? Yes that’s right we needed to have a wine in this sublime place to continue our tradition ,as it was we had a lovely glass of Rose’. This was one of those thing you will always remember.
We are back down now, Michelle and Danielle raring to go so eat our sandwich on the go and head to the town of Thun . Small village that is growing every year we are told but that doesn’t surprise as it beautiful . It is here we saw how the kids here practice their surfing,I have photos and a movie , it was so clever and also entertainingly, of course Shirley and I had a drink to celebrate a new place but this time it was in the car as we needed to get going.
The time has flown and it time to start our journey home and as is Michelle’s way ,he is taking us the long way to show us more of the beauty they are surrounded by. I could tell you that this is better than any other trips around but it is as beautiful .
Tomorrow we going to Geneva with Michelle’s son ,he going to practice sailing so he can get a licence so he offered a lift .so yet another adventure has come to an end and we have only three day before our tour and our adventure concludes ,so far so good . I am off to bed now so we will see you in the next blog.
