Day 12 6/9/2018
The last adventure in Switzerland
We are very slow this morning after Shirley’s restless night we get up around 8.00 am and slowly start to wind up. At 10.30 we are traveling to the hot pols in Charmey, just to relax and have some water jet massage. This a big complex with 3 large heated pools 4 sauna areas , one where nothing but a towel is allow, pretty risqué . We spent near on an hour and half there but to stay longer may have seen our prune like skin start to leave the bone . Although we have tried to adapt to their coffee it still seems like the Aussie style is the best , here to make coffee on real milk is almost unheard of even though their milk is one of the best in the world they prefer to use uht milk , just doesn’t suit our taste buds.
We arrived home and Danielle had prepared our lunch the night before which was slow cooked venison, half a peach, cooked pear, red sour kraut and noodles . Everything just went together so well ,it was like eating in a chefs’ hat restaurant. One plate was enough but silly me asked for more sour kraut and the next I know I have another full plate, when you are lucky enough to stay with these two beautiful people you will go home well feed ,well educated on there country and well and truly 4kilos over your original weight.
In the afternoon we went op shop hunting. I was amazed by the quality and the prices of these
good . I would not hesitate to inform young people who are moving into their first apartment or home to check these places out, not everything is fantastic but there are something you will be glad you went hunting.
The sad part of every holiday is when it’s time to leave, Michelle and Danielle have made us feel at home from the time we arrive 12days ago and we hope that in the near future we can repay them for their hospitality.
So tomorrow we leave Fribourg for Geneva stay over night then fly out Saturday at 9.00am then stage 2 of our taste of Europe begins . This is our last blog from Switzerland and maybe til we get to Croatia, depends if something magical happens.
We hope that all is well at home, a special hello to my grandson Hayden maybe Sandra can give him a kiss from Shirley and poppy John. Should get wifi tomorrow so this and blog 10 should upload.
