Weds. 7th July
Today we have visited 4 waterfalls, 1 dairy and 2 cheese factories. The factories and dairy are really not worth writing about. The waterfall trail starts at Millaa Millaa which is a very small town on the Atherton Tablelands where every other business and house is for sale. There is however a very nice café which seems to do a roaring lunch trade. We are staying in the villa (it is the villa because it is the only one) on a small caravan site which is also for sale. It's quite good with lots of room and a washer and dryer which was handy tonight because we got caught in the rain late this afternoon, correction we got caught in the low cloud handing over the area like fog.The waterfalls are impressive they should be, this area is the wettest in Australia. On our wish list is to swim in a pool at the bottom of a waterfall, today was our opportunity at 2 of the falls and we had our togs with us.We watched as a man and his young son age about 8 went in, the Dad did his best not to scream but the son gave the game away when he said it was freezing.I also read a notice board which said if you have swum in our icy water pools go to a local business and claim your polar bear swim certificate not a certificate I would frame and put on the wall so one more item on the wish list which will stay there. Tomorrow 2 more waterfalls, a wind farm and the hot springs.

Philip Hi both of you. Sounds like you are having a great trip! We've just come down to your place for a couple of days - all is well, it helped when we found the heater in the cupboard, very cold past few days. Just been up watching the soccer with Samuel, sent him back to bed but I'll probably go for a walk. Enjoy the hot springs, wish we had them here today! Love from all of us
