Reading the tourist info about getting to Kurandawas confusing well it was to us so we took the easy option and booked here at the caravan park which meant we were picked up at the gate, shepherded to the train, met when we came back by skyrail and brought back to the gate well worth the $10 it costs more than doing everything ourselves. The whole Kuranda experience is very well done you are given a train time, a carriage and seat number and the time you have to catch the skyrail back down. Although the skyrail part is interesting the train is the star of the day.To see the train going round the bends and in and out of the tunnels is just what you see on TV on Getaway etc. and it makes you appreciate the early pioneers. I wonder will people be saying this about the skyrail in100 years time?Kuranda village is great if you like shopping and food but we found 2 hours long enough and it really is the getting there that counts. The weather was glorious until about 3pm when it became overcast but it was still 28 degrees. We leave here tomorrow calling at Port Douglas on our way to our next base Mossman from where we hope to explore Cape Tribulation, the Daintree and Cooktown
