After a night at anchor on a long beach it was time for an early morning swim before breakfast and a shower using the thermal shower on the back of the boat. We left the shower bag on the boat all day several days ago and when we tried using it the water was too hot shower with! After a lazy morning on the beach and a a short motor in the afternoon, we anchored off a beach in the middle of nowhere. Javelin was a major attraction for the locals who all came out swimming, canoeing or in dinghies to say Ola.

We took a taxi to visit the caves at Nerja which were discovered in 1959. These are massive caves with enormous stalagmites and stalagtites. After getting back we set off for Puerto de Este. This is a lovely marina tucked behind the cliffs.

We know we are on the Costa del Sol as the temperature during the day and night has risen. Today very little wind so we mostly drifted with piled out head sail and main. In the afternoon it went away completely so we all jumped overboard and went swimming. I inspected the bottom of Javelin and the anodes which have some bits left on them. Another good sail after initially motoring and we sailed to a large marina with stern to mooring. Benalmadena is a classic Costa del Sol resort with a sandy beach which has standing room only during the day. Dave, Neil and Trish left to go home to be replaced by Ian and Marianne.
