Visited the museum of maritime archeology which was fascinating with the Wreck of a 7 century BC sailing boat having been discovered at Mazarron just south of here. Boat maintenance today was decks as always and life jackets. A lot of puff to blow up this lot!

Great days sailing from Aquilas to Cartagena. Sun out broad reaching in a flat sea at7.5 knots. The sea food counters are great in the supermarkets so we had fresh prawns followed by Dorado and ratatouille. Desert fresh strawberries

How the other half lives, the Bristolian II leaves the marina. She was built in New Zealand and has a crew of 5 for an owner and 5 others!

Today was a chance to explore Cartagena. There was plenty going on, at the main Plaza a few hundred yards from the entrance of the marina was the end of a charity bike ride with hundreds of riders of all ages crossing the line in their green T-Shirts. Later in the afternoon on the dock near a warship was a parade of the Virgin del Ciridad. She is kept in the cathedral and very rarely taken out. A short sail from Mazarron to Cartagena with no wind again! The only wild life today were jellyfishes which are all shapes, colours and sizes. We liked this south Cardinal mark in Mazarron bay. Cartegena is a busy natural harbour first used several thousands of years ago. There was a cruise ship moored near our berth. They left in the late afternoon and peace returned as their band disappeared out to sea. Dave caught a late flight home and we await Jim tomorro...
