The weather has got hotter now as we have come further south. After a good crossing from Formentera using the spinnaker for the third time in this crossing we anchored in a lovely bay and have been enjoying swimming in the sea. Yesterday I walked up and down to the castle in Alicante in a belated effort to keep fit.

Another day another deck recaulking! It has heated up in Ibiza so spent day on deck maintenance. Enjoyed swim in sea afterwards. The sea is also warming up and great if the bay does not have jellyfish. There has been an epidemic in the western med based on my survey.

Rescued at sea! Yesterday we planned to anchor in a small bay on the north of Menorca with a brisk southerly wind blowing. When we arrived we found the unmarked rock in the bay with our keel so decided to move on to Cuidadella. As we rounded the top corner of the island we were head to wind in a force 6 with 3 metres waves so decided to motor the last 3 miles. With a mile to go the engine died. Sea survival on a

Arrived in Ciudadela after good crossing from Majorca. Moored next to Australians who have only just bought their boat 8 weeks ago. It is a trimaran with a 8.4 metre beam! They plan to go to Greece. I helped them with their passage planning since they are only at Day Skipper level of training.
