Today we woke to bright sunshine for a day off in Guernsey. First task was to refuel the diesel as we are leaving at 5am tomorrow morning. Filled up the diesel can to discover it is leaking. Got back to the boat at 1am last night using the dinghy, which is always a challenge in the dark. Disappointing result in the football but a good night in the pub. This morning we walked up to St Annes the capital of Alderney. Most shops were closed including the one in the picture. The shop front appealed to all of us. As we left the Solent via the Needles, the wind became variable but generally behind so got out the spinnaker. Having spent half an hour sorting out a twist round the up haul, yes you sailors heard correctly the up haul with a classic wine glass. By the time we sorted the wind had dropped to force 1 and we motored the whole way to Alderney. We are bobbing about about to have a salmon dinner before trying to find a pub to watch England play.
