Final day of boat prep. We sail tomorrow. The heads(toilet) would not pump out so time to dismantle. As you can see there are lots of bits. Having diagnosed the problem we took apart the relevant parts and cleaned before reassembling to get a fully working toilet. Assembled the new dan buoy to replace the one lost in the Bonefacio Straits last year. Fixed the navigation lights and washed the ropes before a delicious fish dinner cooked by Jim. After successful shake down motor and sail, we decided to take off the head sail and wash it. Jim was in his element. RBYC members will note the sponge.

Propeller all finished and antifoul done ready for launching.

It has been hectic since we arrived in Aquadulce. A long list of jobs to get done before we set sail. The first one is to replace the propeller. This proved more difficult than planned. I have taken the old propeller off many times but this time the big nut holding it on would not come undone. My socket kept jumping off despite my and Jim's best efforts. Finished the decks at last. They look like a new boat thanks to the hard work of Dave and Sue. The wind has been blowing up to Gale force for the last three days and at night the boat is even heeled over by the wind just like being on the Fastnet without leaving port. It is forecast to die down tomorrow so we are planning to set off in the morning with a long trip to Gurucha.
