Woke up at 5am to hear the sound of rain on the boat! This was not in the script. The rain increased steadily until 10 o'clock when we picked up Dave from the airport. It then stopped and we put Dave to work helping with boat maintenance. The steering cables needed tightening which was a simple matter of releasing a locking but and then tightening the other nut. This is required for both cables. However the cables can only be accessed by climbing into the back lockers. The nuts are still not accessible and at most you can get an 1/8th of a turn. 2 hours later we had got the job done and taken the skin off our knuckles. The next job was changing the fuel filter, this involves the lengthy process of manually priming the fuel in the system which takes about 30 minutes of pumping by hand at the back of the engine. We then had time to continue with deck sanding before a well earned dinner. Dave earned his rest!
