She's back - the Triumph Sprint that is. The problem was traced to a dud battery. I should really have changed it before we left England. We've had another nice day in the Bran area with a trip to Rasnov castle, Poiana Brasov ski area and finally Brasov central square for dinner (see photos). Decided to try out the local taxis and visit the Prahova valley for some walking. Unfortunately the queue for the telecabin was very long so we stuck to a lower waterfall walk and a trip to Peles Castle, Sinaia (see photos). The driver of the car pictured is the holder of the Daewoo Matiz land speed record in towns. He offers demonstration drives (under the guise of being a Taxi) for a very competitive rate. Lazy day in Bran today, looking round the town and Bran Castle (the 'other' Dracula Castle) - not particularly spooky and very busy on a Saturday afternoon. Great views from our hotel.

Friday part 2. Having had such a good day we were looking forward to a rare early finish. The Triumph Sprint ST had other ideas. We stopped in Bran for final directions to the hotel ( We were within a mile). The bike then refused to start. After 20 minutes of checking the obvious (fuses etc.) we gave up and called the AA. Our hopes now rest on the local motorbike dealers being able to fix the problem do that we can carry on. Here's hoping that they are successful...

Fri, Part 1 - A great day of motorcycling. Left Sibiu early this morning and headed for the Transfagarasan Pass (as featured on Top Gear and built by Ceausescu in the 1970s). Roads were much better than we had expected and we completed the route by lunchtime. Stopped for lunch in a village in the middle of no where.
