Decided on a non-cycling day today and instead went on a bit of a tour of southern Normandy with Paula, stopping at the medieval town of Domfront and the chateau at Carrouges.

20 miles cycle today, to Conde-sur-Noireau and back. Has been a day of warm drizzle, punctures, muddy puddles, gateaux, and mushrooms. Got back nice and muddy! Lots of activities around here to come back for - kayaking, velo-rail, walking and parapente. Almost got a score of 128 for 'definite' in Scrabble (using two triple word score squares) but Abi beat me to it!

Shortish ride today (for me) - 17 miles - definitely feeling the effects of yesterday's ride, and a general lack of cycling over the last couple of months. The area is a bit like the Cotswolds - not particularly big hills but very up and down.

Arrived in France at 6.45 this morning, and headed into Caen with Chris for breakfast - had forgotten that we'd be cycling in the dark. Meanwhile Paula headed off to Le Havre to pick up Abi and Peter, and met us in Thury Harcourt for an early lunch so that we could all do the rest of the cycle to Pont D'Ouilly.
