With a clean RV we head off to the Sunshine Coast again by ferry narrowly catching the one we needed because of crazy traffic, it is rush hour after all. We get off and have about an hour to spray clean the RVs exterior, sort the sewage and top up the propane.
So according to our rep from Happy Holidays it should take no more than an hour to achieve this and the necessary facilities are all at the nearby Shell garage - it's really not that easy. Matt's scrubbing away trying to clean up the two weeks' worth of accumulated bugs and muck and the Shell garage didn't have propane so he does his best and we set off to meet Rainer - who's 20 minutes late meeting us. Thankfully he appreciated that the satnav we hired wasn't that reliable so he waives the fee to service the propane and is pleased with the overall cleanliness saving us a $100 cleaning fee. They really are a great company and we've had a fab trip in the luxury motor. Our return tickets are included, so we board and they have a cab waiting at the other side to take us to our down town destination.
We are meeting up with Kim and Cheryl today and crashing at theirs, we met these guys on our Caribbean cruise and kept in touch. Kim gives us his office address which appears to be really central with great views of the harbour - we find it with ease and descend upon him getting a tour of his pad. The views are insane, he's literally got a patio balcony looking out over the harbour and the swanky Fairmont hotel - it's so big you could BBQ on this thing and invite 10 people over seating them comfortably. Kim is the most down to earth guy you'll meet and tells us about how before he became a lawyer he was a deep-sea rescue diver, proper old school with those big copper helmets and long thick pipes - we get to see some pics and he shows Matt a new guitar he's bought that's being delivered. He's going to wrap up early round 4.30ish so we decide to head to the Elephant and Castle bar opposite to chill for a bit.
First, we send some documents back to the solicitors fed ex priority 3-day postage - extortionate but has to be done.
It's happy hour - shocking! Jacqs on margaritas, Matts got cider and we are loving the great selection of rock tunes in here - great spot. 4 drinks in were still happy - happy hour lasts 3 hours. Kim joins us for a beer saying he couldn't cope knowing we were sat across the road in a pub so we have another and jump in his car heading off to Delta where they've had a home for 15 years.
We arrive and Cheryl is waiting with a selection of appetisers and cold beers. This house is stunning! It's so amazing, really it is - hot tub, pool, gorgeous garden, 5 bedrooms and we have our own downstairs double room with a bathroom - pure spoilt. We sit out on the terrace and next thing we know Ronnie who was on the cruise with these guys turns up - it's fab! He's big into his music too so the lads are having a ball and Jacq and Cheryl are sipping the vino.
We tell them about our trip, they're so interested, and shell out the wine we bought yesterday at the winery, they love the story and plan to stop by as they've never heard of this one despite having a holiday home in the area further north. The boys are loving the red wine we brought and we're having a blast. Pizza is ordered and Cheryl dishes out a salad in some small way to try to add some greens - the pizza is unreal. It's so thick with toppings you just can't manage too much, two slices Jacqs done and 3 Matts ready to burst.
We finish the night with a hot tub dip despite it not being at a warm temperature Jacq & Matt are in the pool - the drink has numbed their senses somewhat. Jacq passes out early and Matt sits up listening to some of Kim's recordings of his band - poor guy has to work tomorrow and it's about 1am.
