We get up late and grab brekkie before making a move, Matt had been up early and spotted a black bear walking through the woods - Jacq's raging she missed it! You're safe enough apparently, providing you don't leave out food or block a bears path - we're really cautious and Matt watched him from the window strolling with his big butt in the air (the Bear not Matt) back towards the river.
We pack up and move toward Whistler - the views are just breath-taking! We stop at Whistler town grabbing more supplies and Jacq gets loads of books on offer - 3 Dan brown books and 2 John Grisham - she's gotten really into crime novels. We stroll around Whistlers Olympic village - it's just how we imagined a ski town to look lots of rich people with pink faces and some with skis over their shoulders, it's not snowy here so they must be using dry slopes but it is a long weekend here and booming with tourists. We grab a coffee at Blenz and use their Wi-Fi to find our next spot, Jacq suggests a stop near a lake about 120km North. On the way back to the van she gets a snap with a couple of Mounties (in proper uniform ladies) and we set off for this lake - just as we're leaving the satnav decides to fail. It doesn't work for two whole hours until we are almost at our destination.
The drive's amazing and on route we pull over by a huge lake with big mountains and ice capped slopes in the background - it's awesome can't think of another word for it so let's try…majestic? That will do - majestic!
Matt cooks up meatballs and pasta and we scoff staring out at the lake - Canada you are so lucky! We top up with fuel $130 gives us a full tank at about 60 pence a litre UK.
