We wake up late and decide to use up more of our city pass heading to the Aquarium, it's down by the Port literally facing the water. As far as Aquariums go it's fine, the highlight being the adorable otters and seals - the otters in particular are hilarious apparently, they sleep holding their mate's hands at night so they don't lose each other downstream - how cute is that! We head off to the pier and grab a soda (all American like) and book tickets for a 4.30...

Big day today! We slept well and opt to check out the EMP museum first to see the Nirvana exhibition that finishes up at the end of this year. Thrilled to discover it's only a 5-minute walk for us through the park which is home to the International Fountain. This fountain is awesome, it's where fans gathered when Kurt died, the place was packed that day and is famed for that memorable shot of grieving fans in unity. We pack up check out and head off in the hire car for a visit to Jean Laffite swamp. It's a half hour drive and we're early so stop for some lunch Jacq gets the chicken gumbo soup - spicy sausage chicken and rice - Matt gets a beef poor boy which resembles a roast beef dinner stuffed in a bread roll rather than the typical poor boys we've seen, regardless it's tasty and we find the swamp tours after a call to check the postcode which is 5 miles short!
