We get up early enough and aim to set off round 11am. It's been great and so quiet all night.

We have set out our route with another recreation site in mind for our next stop, aiming for a place called Copper Creek - it's past Rogers Pass on route to Manning Park. On route Jacq wants to stop near Peach Land in the Okanagan's famous wine country - she spots a well-hidden sign pointing to some wineries up a hill as we exit Peach Land. Jacq chooses a wooden clad building on our left as our stop.

We walk in and the sumptuous smell of wine hits you immediately - the place is lovely and we are greeted by a nice German man called Walter Hubert. Walter tells us this winery has been in his family for nearly 200 years and he does not advertise as people tend to fall upon it or come here through recommendations which is how most of his business is done. He offers a Riesling, a white wine, a Bordeaux and a Shiraz - the Riesling is too strong a scent but the others are lovely. We've decide to buy two to share with our friends Cheryl and Kim who we met our cruise as well be staying with them in a couple of nights. They are delicious - Matts chooses the Bordeaux, Jacq has the white peachy wine, you don't have to buy and can just pay $5 each for just the tastings but you might as well add another $10 and get a $20 bottle for that with free tasting.

Walter is the CEO, and his wines are not available in shops in the UK at all - they are available in Canada but only one outlet sells them and it's the most prestigious in Vancouver. His winery was number one in Canada last year and is currently in the top 1% in the world, his first customer was the Earl of Spencer when he took over. The Earl has since been a loyal customer, along with Prince William and when George was born he sent him 21 bottles for his 21st birthday. William responded with 3 bottles of his exclusive royal collection with strict instruction not to open the parcel until his last child is 21. Poor Walter has been waiting a year and has 5 more to go! He showed us the parcel with the Buckingham Palace postage frank on it, hiding three bottles of wine that no one but the royals can get - he's not smug at all just really proud and we love the story! He caters to the King of Thailand (for real!) and is going there for a special celebration in two weeks to present the wines and some facts about them to his guests!! We've had a blast and head off with nice wine buzzes!

We find our campsite around 4pm - it's $12 a night and comes with a fire pit and stunning views of the creek as it meets Paysatan river. We camp up delighted there's no one else around and get the firewood going for another baked dinner on the fire.
