We see the guy from last night around 10am, he's looking pretty sheepish but has a smile on his face. As we pull away we beep goodbye and see wifey dearest is with him now in their truck - we stop at the exit to use the Wi-Fi quickly and she comes up to Matt by the window to apologise for her behaviour last night admitting she was a bit mental and wants to offer us a free night tonight to make up for it. Matt lets her know it's ok, his wife doesn't have the best choice of vocabulary at times and all is well but we decline as we need to move on.
We are heading to a place called Three Valleys - as we drive we notice we are climbing higher and higher and it's getting unbelievably cloudy but not in a lack of visibility way - more of a "we are in the feckin clouds" kinda way - it's unreal we haven't had this before, it's so stunning, we are surrounded by wispy pillows of cloud and the landscape is becoming more woodland like.
As we pass Three Valleys we notice how pretty it's lakes and houses are - great spot for a break. We are looking for Frog Falls recreation site which is free and set literally at the base of a waterfall. Good old blog tips.
We trust the Satnav to guide us down some pretty ropey terrain as we drive deeper into this forest and soon we fall upon the site which is right in the middle of a huge forest area by the lake at the bottoms of the falls. It's so pretty, we can hear the falls and there are plenty of people camped up here, we seem to have gotten the last space - it's so off the beaten track and unspoilt, clearly a well respected and maintained site.
We chill, Jacqs reading and Matts strumming.
