Drove to El Questro this morning to have a look at Emma Gorge. The road to Emma Gorge is all sealed now except for the last 2 km. The path to the gorge is quite rocky but not as steep as I would have thought. Took about an hour or so to get there. But Wow! So worth it!
The first pool is to die for! We passed it on the way to the gorge, but decided to swim there when we returned.
The gorge was lovely with a small waterfall. But the water was freezing! We decided to brave it anyway! To the right was a small spa like area, where the water was so much warmer. You had to swim through the freezing water to get there though. But was definitely worth the trip.
On the way back we revisited the first pool. Like heaven! Crystal clear blue water, can clearly see the many fish in the water, much warmer temperature, and we had it completely to ourselves! Bliss!! Spent about 20 minutes swimming there!
Drove back to Kununurra and to Mirima Park which is like a mini Bungles. The rock formations are exactly the same. And all just out of town. Fascinating place. Did a few walks and had fantastic views.
