Fitzroy Crossing to Ord River (Leycester Rest stop).
Sunny, 30 degrees.
Before leaving this morning, Lauri decided it was time to give the fun bus a wash! He asked if he could and was given the green light to use as much water as he wanted! So we have a nice clean and shiny bus again!
We left about 11am for the trip towards Halls Creek. The scenery changed a lot during today's drive. First of all was gums and wattles everywhere. And quite flat. And then towards Halls Creek it was a lot more hilly with escarpments and hills like we had seen around Tom Price. We arrived in Halls Creek about 2.30 or so. Had a bit of a look around and got some fuel. It is quite a nice town, very clean and tidy. Not a bit like we were expecting really. I think it is a lot better than it was in earlier days. But we had decided to keep on going to a rest stop about 100 km further on.
The scenery changed again. A lot more stations and cattle. And very pretty undulating countryside. Very bushy, similar to what you would find in the bush in Victoria. We arrived at the free Camp rest stop about 4.30. Very popular place but still plenty of spots.
