Lake Argyle
Sunny, 31 degrees.
Drove to Lake Argyle this morning. Only a short drive, about 70 km.
The caravan park here has mixed reviews. Some love it, others not! So we weren't really sure what to expect. It is hard to get into. And we have heard stories of people queuing to get in at 7.30 am. Anyway we arrived at about 12. Plenty of sites, so the rumours of having to arrive at 7.30 seem already overdone.
We decided to go unpowered but we put on the oval... Not a very nice part of the park I think. Very close to one another and no atmosphere. There is no lake views from the sites which surprised me. I was expecting many sites with a view. The pool is lovely with the view and the other accomodation has views but the caravan park has none. The other thing I really disliked about the park was we were issued with a wrist band which apparently we must wear at all times to prove we had paid for our site! Felt this was ridiculous! First time we have come across anything like it. The park is remote anyway. Put me off it. Was glad we didn't spend more than one night here. Felt overrated.
